2012 Mildred Lewis Award
see voting form at "newsletter"
And, the nominees are:
Flori Landry – Nominated by Melody Breaux. I have always heard that the hardest part of life is just showing up. Flori Landry has shown up every day since she joined the WBAG. She has worked tirelessly at maintaining the art center, but she has also helped set and clean up after every workshop, garage sale, reception and meeting. She has had the thankless task of finding sitters for the center and she has done this with a smile. She is part of the board and this requires her to attend meetings monthly. She teaches classes at the art center. She mediates with all workmen for the building. She watches our budget as part of her unpaid position as building manager. She lends us her personal tents for the open show each year. The past few years Flori's family has had many trying times, but this has not changed her devotion to the art guild. Flori Landry deserves our recognition for a job well done

. Marie Fink – Nominated by Maurice Stockton, III. Marie has enthusiastically and tirelessly served on the following many, many committees, including: Open Show (including catering), Kids Camp, Garage Sale, Installation Banquet (chair), Nominating and Christmas Party (chair). She is very active and enthusiastic in guild activities.

June Holwell- Nominated by Judy Erwin. June joined WBAG in 2009 and hit the ground running; first agreeing to assist with Artline, our newsletter, and then in 2010, taking on the publication of the Artline. At the same time, June agreed to accept the Recording Secretary position, handling both of these tasks seamlessly, while taking care of family members who have been very ill. June has volunteered for many activities, such as Esplanade Mall, Gretna Courthouse and has assisted in other WAC shows. June was instrumental in bringing in the honor to WBAG of having a Tribute Wall at the Esplanade Mall, entitled "Tribute to Louisiana". Her contribution to this and to the resulting 2012 Calendar depicting the Tribute wall and individual Artist’s work has spotlighted the Artists, the WBAG, and the WAC.
